Client of the Month – May 2014 – Richard Poole

Here’s Richard’s story:

Richard started working out with us because he wanted to change his appearance. He thought that he looked a lot older than his years. Since he joined the studio 8 months ago, he has lost 40lbs and 13 inches total. He is down 3 pants and shirt sizes. Most importantly, he is now completely off his blood pressure medication.
His trainer Cedric says: “Richard’s success is no surprise because he stuck to the game plan. His perfect attendance, positive attitude and discipline with nutrition are the reasons why he was able to lose 40lbs in 8 months!”

Client of the Month – May 2014 – Jake Damstra

Here’s Jake’s story:
Jake has a passion for soccer. As a soccer referee, he started training to get in shape before the start of the new season. He stopped smoking four months ago and has never felt better. He is now able to continuously run for a prolonged period of time, which is very useful for refereeing. Jake has lost 57lbs, 19 inches and 11.3% body fat in only 4 months!
Jake’s trainer Martin says: “He made major improvements to his eating habits right away, which is far from typical. We usually preach small changes at the beginning but he wanted to get it right as soon as possible. He was able to achieve his goal sooner than anticipated because of his attention to detail, which has been outstanding. You really deserve to be Client of the Month!”

Client of the Month – April 2014 – Lori Laughton

Last but not least, congratulations to the final Client of the Month for April: Lori Laughton!

Here’s Lori’s story:

Lori’s main motivation to join Refine was because of health issues. She was diagnosed with diabetes and wanted to make every effort to reduce the effects of the disease. Lori says: “I was never athletic. I hated doing exercise but now I actually look forward to my weekly sessions. I feel energized, and my back ache is virtually gone. I am so much stronger, which makes doing my job a lot easier.”

Lori has been here for only a few months, but has seen amazing results. She recently participated in the Take Down Challenge, which she says was the key to her success. This program taught her a lot about nutrition and what changes she should make in her diet. Her doctor has definitely noticed her efforts.

Lori is now off her diabetes medication for a 3 month trial! In addition, she has also lost 32lbs and 12.6% body fat.

Client of the Month – April 2014 – Marilyn Hageniers

Here’s Marilyn’s story:

Marilyn has an injury to her right knee which kept her from trying any new exercises. It had been a problem for her for 10 years…until she started training. Three months later, she can now walk up and down the stairs comfortably and she can also walk 1-2 miles without knee pain. Marilyn has also lost 20lbs and 16 total inches.

Her trainer Sarah says: “Marilyn is such a great person to work with. One great key to her success is that she very rarely misses a session. This dedication has gotten Marilyn to achieve all of the goals she set when she started with us.”

Here’s Cathy’s story:

Cathy started working out after realizing that she wasn’t keeping up with weight loss like she wanted to. However, she was very determined to make a change without drastically changing her day to day routine. “I haven’t done anything crazy or drastic, I’m not depriving myself, and I can totally live with these small changes,” she says, “I read all food labels and pay special attention to the fat and sugar grams. I always stick to the serving size, or even cut it in half.”

Ever since she started training and watching what she eats, Cathy says that she has a lot more stamina and is consistently losing weight. In only 6 months, she has lost 29lbs and 19 inches.

Her trainer Erica says: “She has now realized that by making small changes and incorporating exercise into her daily routine, she will be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle without sacrificing anything. She has done such a great job.”

Ever since Terry started working out at Refine, she has seen incredible results. In just 6 months, Terry lost 25.6lbs and nearly 18 total inches. She says that she now realizes the importance of nutrition and how much it impacts our bodies. Terry loves Refine Fitness Studio because of the staff: “They are willing to go the extra mile for their clients.”

Client of the Month – March 2014 – Paula Dawson

Congratulations to the March Client of the Month: Paula Dawson!

Here’s Paula’s story:

Paula Dawson started training two years ago after she had a stroke. She knew that this was a great wake-up call to become more active and lose weight.

At first, her journey was very difficult. Because of health limitations, she could not get on the tread mill or elliptical bike. However, the more she trained the more she realized that she was able to do things she never thought she could. She actually enjoys training now. She has also recently completed the Take Down Challenge, which has helped her to incorporate healthier eating habits.

Paula has lost 17lbs in the last 4 months and 95lbs total! Her trainer Jesse says: “Her wonderful attitude and hard work has paid off tremendously. Her form has really improved due to the consistency with her attendance. Her dedication to her health, wellness and fitness level is proven with each and every training session.”

Client of the Month – March 2014 – Gillian Short

Congratulations to the March Client of the Month: Gillian Short!

Here’s Gillian’s story:

Gillian’s main motivation to start training was her wedding. She wanted to fit into the wedding dress of her dreams and was willing to do whatever it took to accomplish this goal.

Although she already knew the importance of fitness training, Gillian didn’t realize just how big of a role nutrition played in weight loss as well. She says: “My favourite thing about Refine is the nutritional support. This separates them from most facilities. If you are looking for accountability, the staff comes highly recommended. They are always ready to help.”

Since she has started training, Gillian has dropped down 2 dress sizes and has accomplished her goal of being able to fit into the wedding dress of her dreams.

Client of the Month – February 2014 – Mark Rinaldi-Ross

Here’s Mark’s story:

Mark Rinaldi-Ross coached all school sports for his children. After realizing he was starting to live a more sedentary lifestyle, he decided that it was time to get off the bench and get back in the game.

Mark says: “Being unfit is a downward spiral. You don’t exercise, you don’t eat well and you don’t have the energy to do anything about it. The easiest and fastest way to improve your level of fitness is to align yourself with a professional and a great facility… like Refine Fitness.”

This has proven to be a good strategy for Mark: he lost 52.2 lbs, 22.75 inches (that’s nearly 2 feet!) and 9.6% body fat! His trainer Maureen says that his determination, hard work, great attitude and positive disposition have paid off tremendously in his quest to achieving good health.

Client of the Month – February 2014 – Kevin Wilkinson

Here’s Kevin’s story:

Kevin Wilkinson started training to be fit and healthy for his twins. He wanted to set an example for them when they grow up. As a result, he now has a lot more energy and feels stronger and fitter than he has in many years.

His trainer, Dave, says that Kevin is very consistent and even though he faces time barriers, he prioritizes fitness and health near the top; that’s why he’s getting the great results that he has earned. Kevin lost an astonishing 31lbs, 5.4% body fat, 6.5 inches from his waist and 5 inches from his hips in only 5 months!

Kevin says: “I watch what I eat, and I strive to be consistent with my training; to go to every training session and put in a solid effort.”
